Holocaust - That Turned Into Anglo-American Hate Transference Facility"After being a prisoner of war, McCain despicably still keeps on saying "I know how to win wars" Surely, he deceitfully means "I know how to have American youths get killed in Iraq War." His speeches show he doesn't know that over 4,175 Americans have already been killed and 30,662 wounded as of September 29, 2008. Yet, quite frequently, McCain claims himself as a war hero. Does he ever ask himself whether that Vietnam War was a legitimate one with UN approval? The opinion of the world would be a thunderous "no" and the UN had no part in it." |

Things to do before I retire :: ...from the diary of US President George W. Bush, as told to Stefan Simanowitz ::"Other folks say Iraq is kinda like the new Vietnam. I couldn’t really say ’cause I’ve only been to Iraq at Thanksgiving and I never went to ‘Nam in the Seventies – it was way too dangerous back then. But Dick says that 60,000 of our guys died in Vietnam and we’ve only lost about 4,000 so far in Iraq, so that’s really good going. No-one takes notice of the injured guys so they don’t count. I do feel bad for the brave service men and ladies who get popped, though. Just last week Condee came into my office and told me that three Brazilian soldiers had been killed in Baghdad and I was really awful upset. ‘How many is a brazilian?’ I asked." |

The "Hero" Who Runs from the Battlefield :: And Other Observations About the Presidential Campaign ::"The American corporate media remains a disgrace. It has come a long, long, way from the glory days of Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite. But in this election the media has shown noteworthy improvement over its performance in 2000 and 2004." |

"Senator McCain is absolutely right" :: The debate Obama needed, but not the debate the United States ::"This is a grave time for the United States: two ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, shots exchanged between U.S. and Pakistani troops, ongoing conflict with Iran and escalating conflict with Russia. Not only is all of this draining the U.S. military and their families but it is also draining the U.S. treasury at a time when the treasury is empty. Iraq alone is costing $10 billion a month – money we are borrowing from other countries the U.S. is competing with." |

Republicans on the Left and Democrats on the Right"This downward spiral must be broken. Financial institutions must be allowed to fail, and the market must be allowed to return to equilibrium. Such failures might very well induce a recession, but as Herbert Hoover discovered, throwing more credit at a market with excess credit only worsens the inevitable economic downturn. Let’s just hope the ill effects of this massive financial bail out don’t get that bad." |

Political Jabs, Sarah Sinking, and the Bailout Opera"Since the U.S. and world markets started tanking after the House vote, it seems imperative that Congress immediately set to work to craft another bill to somehow prop up the financial system -- so as to let the markets quickly know that something is being done to solve the badly damaged credit system. But Congress must now take into account many of the objections that sunk the Paulson plan, chief among them the size of the bailout and the crushing debt-burden that would harm U.S. taxpayers for generations." |
